GOP Leader: Gay Marriage Bad For Small Biz and More!

So as if it wasn't bad enough that the majority of Christian churches feel the need to control the constitutional rights of lgbt folks who would like to marry, the GOP has recently turned it into an economic issue.

There cannot be anything more insidious than this.

But watch Keith Olbermann tear the crap out of this argument:

Let me just say that as a single person, I have not ONCE been employed by a small business that insured even me. Not once. And if insuring families is the issue, then I would think the answer would be either 1) not to hire married hets because obviously, they suck up the most money, or 2) don't hire anyone married at all, or 3) don't hire anyone with kids, married or not, or....

You see where this goes.

And while we're at it, let's see what NOM has been up to after their last inane "Gathering Storm" add against lgbt marriage.

Now, they seem to be thinking that same gender marriage shouldn't be acceptable because it confuses children. Like purple dinosaurs don't? Like divorce doesn't? Like hunger and poverty don't?

What a pile of absolute crap.

Now, this child, Ethan, who is a Colorado sixth grader, organized an equal marriage rights rally might be the one to debate Michael Steele. Kudos to Ethan... baby, you are the future!

The Light on the Front of the Torture Train

Who would have thought--even six months ago--that torture in all its ugly form might completely bring down the former white house?

I think many of us did, but the caveat was whether or not the current administration would release "the memos" which, of late, they did--at least some--after five very long years.

For those of us that watched Watergate spin up to speed then take everything in its path with it, we saw an accident at slow speed... same as now with the torture issue.

Interestingly, until yesterday Condi Rice had never really been implicated. But implicated she is now along with Bush, Rumsfield, Wolfowitz, and Cheney. Other names are popping out as well. Rice's involvement appears to date as far back as 2002.

As more comes to light on this situation (which it seems to almost hourly...), a startling fact cannot be ignored and it's emphasized in this Olbermann interview with Fmr. Gen. Brig. Janis Karpinski who is obviously mad as hell:

More and more calls are coming from politicians and many former high-ranking military officers for hearings on the issue which the public has been demanding for several years.

So, if you see that light at the front of the train, you probably have a really good sense of where this is going. And it ain't gonna be pretty.

This is, of course, why Fox News is trying SO hard to make torture look okay.

Shameful.
