All things come to an end. Sadly, for many of us, Father Jake Stops the World, a blog on many things Episcopalian, is packing it in.
The blog, which has championed many issues which confront the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion has been a wonderful source of information and friendship for many. I am sad to see it go.
Aidios, mi amigo. You will be sorely missed.
In every ending, there is a beginning. May God keep you, Jake, and may your new journey be peaceful in the loving God.
And from Bob Dylan, a song of Blessing, Forever Young. It is a song I have sung professionally it seems a billion times... the third verse always chokes me up.
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
As a final note, the photo here was taken by a neighbor of the Taco Bell drive through "thank you" and her dogs. During the fires of October 2007, evacuated for 14 days and living in a parking lot about 20 feet from this sign where I set up a temporary shelter for animals, this photo has become rather a hallmark of emotion for me.
Woof, Jake!
How do we find middle ground?
