Sarah Palin has multiply stated that she has experience in foreign affairs because to her west lies Russia. One can see it's far eastern shore from an Alaskan Island. She has also noted that Canada lies to it's east and south.
I haven't read much about the Canadian reaction to this absurd claim, but a Russian, via Pravda, sure didn't mince words:
Sarah Palin, Mrs. Nobody know-it-all shreiking cow from Alaska, the joke of American politics, plied with a couple of vodkas before letting rip in front of incredulous audiences while McCain coos in the background, cuts a ridiculous figure as she strives to be taken seriously. [sic]

Eh hem. I doubt seriously most U.S. papers would have printed such a letter. Oddly, it would appear, at least in this case, that Pravda practices more of a First Amendment tradition than most of our domestic media.
I will admit to chuckling through the piece. It is worth a read if you are in need of a smile.
